Why do guys not date a girl because they’re a virgin even if they like you?

My guy friend and I finally had a talk about us and our feelings for each other. As we discussed and talked about our feelings for each other past and present I had him revisit something that happened a year ago and he ended up talking to my other guy friends about this. He told me that he liked me and contemplated dating me numerous times, but I tried kissing him and he rejected it because he liked me at the time and knew if we kissed drunk things couldn’t go as far as he wanted it to with the fact of him knowing that I’m a virgin and haven’t done anything of kissed anybody. Because of me being a virgin and not being able to give him what he wants sexually is why he practically never asked me out or told me how he felt about me. And this seems to be a pattern with some guys I know where they won’t date me because they know that I’m a virgin and I wanted to know why guys don’t date girls who are virgins?

As a virgin myself allow me to just say this. Somebody like that sounds more authentic than a lot of other guys out here. He made it very clear to you that you and him are not compatible. So the fact that you're even trying to force compatibility with him shows that not only do you not love yourself but that you're also causing problems in your relationships with other people. They are the ones that made that decision to lose their virginity. They are the ones that decided to sleep with whoever they choose to sleep with. You are not obligated to have sex with them. But at the same time he made it very clear that for him he desires to have sex with whoever he wants to have sex with. And because you made it known that you are not one to give him what he wants. He's not going to pursue something that isn't going to benefit him. At least he's honest. At much as it hurts it is better for him to tell you the truth. Then for him to lie and take advantage of you and then you really feel like you've been used.

Have some respect not only for yourself but for him. Because now is less to do about you being a virgin but the simple fact that you're desperate and that you don't love yourself. And that's an even bigger red flag. Because he don't want to be responsible for your hurt feelings or are the problems that only you can personally fix.

There are guys who want a relationship and guys who want a sexual conquest. For those focused on sex, being with a virgin reduces their likelihood of getting what they want, so they avoid those opportunities. It's not a loss for you, as they aren't ready or mature enough to understand the value of a relationship versus the momentary pleasure they can get from sex. Would you truly prefer being in a relationship with someone who only cares about what he can get from you rather than someone who truly cares about your feelings? Never assume guys will change. Sounds to me like at the time your friend didn't want to take advantage while you were in a drunk state especially while you were a virgin. Not just because you were just a virgin.

My guess would be they are impatient for sex and/or assume you won't have a high sex drive or be fun in bed.

Rejecting a girl for being a virgin is rejecting them for a temporary state. A girl who is a virgin can always gain experience and become more comfortable in the bedroom and I'd find it more appealing for her to have gained that experience with me rather than with other men.
