How Do I tell a White Boy I have preference for white men?

Question

I’m a black girl and I don’t want this to come off as a stupid question or me trying to put down black men cause that’s not the case. I’ve always had a preference for white boys or Asian boys. There’s this white guy at my job who knows me from school and he always asks me about my exes he thought I dated ; they’re always black men. I want to tell him that I’m not into black men but I don’t want to seem weird or that I’m hitting on him.

Race shouldn't matter how you feel or your preferred date. Thats your choice.
Just talk to him and take interest into the things he does or like. But you my ask if he wants to get coffee or lunch. He may play it off and not act on your subtle hints. Sometimes its better to just say what your thinking.

Well instead of saying that you have a preference for white man you could just say that you have never dated a black man. This way he knows they are not your exes but it doesn't sound like you are hitting in him.

Tell him you like your men like you like your coffee, light and sweet with lots of cream.

I don't know why, but people understand racial preferences if you compare it to how you like coffee. Like with ANYTHING ELSE there could be a misunderstanding, but with coffee, everybody gets exactly what you mean and no feelings get hurt.

Okay so I have the same issue here. It's not that I'm racist but I have a preference for native girls. I am Métis but look white. Honestly I suggest you just put it out there but say you have no issue with the race or the colour of their skin it's just a preference.
