Why do tall guys care so much about height?

Most tall guys I hear from want a woman at least a whole foot or more shorter than them. I've even heard tall guys that say that taller women 5'7+ are still too tall for them even though they are shorter them. I don't really understand why people want such a big height difference. Its not just women that want 6'0+ guys, its 6'0+ guys that don't even want tall women.

I’m 6’3”. The average height of women is 5’4”. That is almost a foot difference. Women like tall men thus it is a trait that offers more choice. There are going to be more good looking women with other positive traits where there are more women in general (center of the bell curve)… So picking out the best ones from the pool close to 5’4” over a lifetime creates a type preference… It’s probably that simple.

I've seen plenty of tall guys say they don't even want girls that are like above 5'5. Depends on country, USA average is 5'4 so roughly 5'7 would be the starting point for tall.

Ok. I didn't know they did cm there. I knew they use metric for distances. Britain uses a funny mix of both but i have adapted better to the metric and learnt that simply because its more simple and accurate.
