If you knew that 3/4 of all women excluded you without ever even seeing you just based on your height, then (if you were tall) it isn't hard to understand why you would advertise being above that threshold.

If, say, women knew that 3/4 of all men excluded women who weighed above 120 pounds automatically, without even looking at them, then you'd have a ton of smaller/thinner women who would not shut up about being under 120 pounds.

Height is a good feature to use when describing oneself. For example if someone asked what I looked like (I don't do pictures because of certain... uh people) I would say I have facial hair, deep brown hair that is middling length, I am slim, quite tall and I have multicolored eyes.
