Being attractive seems to matter more to people when they are young. However that's a bit ironic because during those years, they are the most attractive they will ever be, and have the most potential for change. But it's human nature to want to be desirable, wanted; and it is pretty beneficial to partner up in one's twenties, if a family is what you want. Money and stability may be lower, but fertility and energy are on your side, and lord knows you need energy to chase around a toddler who just got 'wheels.'
But intelligence gets you more in life. Being attractive gives you a leg up, many advantages, but they'll only take you so far. After that, you need many other traits to prove your worth - character, integrity, perseverance, etc etc.
I like being able to figure things out, extrapolate, be able to draw conclusions or make connections from seemingly disparate ideas or events. Fading beauty makes me sad, very sad, but it is fleeting and that's a fact we all have to reconcile. We are supposed to wear our age like a badge of honour. I appreciate that in others. It's harder when it's yourself.
I said once to my brother-in-law (who's very, very intelligent, and I always enjoy our conversations analyzing the world), "You know, I think intelligence is often over-valued, and being nice, being a good person is under-valued." He looked stunned. "Really?" And then I named a bunch of notable people who have changed the world, have invented things, but are often not talked about for their glaring character flaws, disagreeable nature, bouts of immorality. Highly intelligent people are not necessarily the ones you want to spend time with. And you can only talk to a great looking shell for so long. If what they reverb back to you is fluff, they honestly don't have that much value.
Being good is definitely under-valued. Folks want to live in their fantasy worlds. Instead of contemplating what is best in the long run. We can be intelligent and use it for the wrong things. But to be both good and intelligent would be great. It's been hard finding folks that have integrity and good ethics nowadays.
Definitely intelligent.
Being more attractive may seem like it would be the obvious or better choice, but think about the downsides: the majority of people would only like or respect you because of your looks! Not your personality, intelligence, or anything else you have to offer. Meaning it would be hard to tell who genuinely likes you versus who just likes your appearance.
You would get constant attention! Which again, seems nice, but it might not be the kind of attention you want or like, especially from people you're not interested in.
Nah, I'll take my intelligence. I can always use that to make more money, get ahead in life, and do great things that will make me stand out in my own way.
I don't mean this in a braggy way at all, because it is entirely due to my family's money, my education and amazing peer group, but basically I've become an intelligent person. I rely mainly on that in order to attract women, and I can tell you that 99% of the time, it does not work. I know how to be witty, sweet, charming, and am smart enough to contribute something to any topic, but if you're not hot or tall there's just nothing you can do about it. Women run to hot guys, and sometimes they SETTLE for smart guys, grudgingly and very conditionally, which is why the stereotype of the lonely, eccentric genius is so prevalent. I hate being so alone, and I hate the fact that I can hold a conversation so well that most women I talk to are actually quite boring to me. Even friendships are based on looks to a large extent, because attractive people are simply pleasant to be around, so my friends too are a little cold towards me. Be hot, even if it means being dumb or having average intelligence. Ignorance really is bliss.
I am not what most would call hot and yes I am short but haven't had any problems getting women when I was single.
More attractive. Since i am quite happy with how intelligent and i think intelligence can be gained through experience and learning anyway so that i can already improve.
But as for looks are just looks and cannot be changed apart from medical surgery but we all know that will come out weird, cost too much, and other problems.
If you said improved I. Q. I would take that since no that cannot be changed by a significant amount by learning or experience it's more you are just around this average number of it for the rest of your life. Mine is above average anyway but having it higher i wouldn't turn down.

This is a question with no good answer. Incredibly intelligent people are often miserable, mainly because they have to suffer being surrounded by so many inferior dumbasses. Life would get even more depressing than it already is. I mean seriously. Trumptards are already too hard to cope with! And being hotter is a problem, also. Lots of people on here are aware that a gentleman who came over for a hookup literally exploded just from looking at my ass. He didn't enter me or anything. His penis just started spontaneously squirting cum. He left in embarrassment. And then he gathered up his courage and came over a couple weeks later to try again and the same exact thing happened!! No lie.
I will just stay the way I am :)
yeah, that totally happened./s
@Skadouchebag It 100% happened.
Well I'm already on the intelligent side somewhat, so some extra attractiveness would net the highest yield of ongoing benefits.
At a certain point, "more intelligence" probably hits diminishing returns. So I'd rather find ways to maximise the application of the intelligence I already possess. Just adding more IQ points won't assure a better life. Intelligence needs to be applied. Attractiveness, meanwhile, tends to work passively -- subconsciously influencing people around you to treat you better, fancy you more, and want to be around you. Intelligence can even have the opposite effect, because it can lead to more clinical ways of thinking, and of interfacing with the outside world. Attractiveness is emotional and warm, intelligence is logical and cold. Too much of one and too little of the other can create all kinds of negative imbalances. (I assume by "attractiveness" we're including personality traits like confidence, and not just looks)
I would choose being more intelligent because that is what is going to last me my entire life. Being attractive would most probably start disappearing in the 40-50s. Moreover I am not a model or actor that my attractiveness matters so much. For people in media industry attractiveness matters otherwise I would say intelligent for all other people.
Attractiveness acts as initial attractant but if you are not intelligent no relationship would last long that's my opinion because no one wants to be with a dumb person.
I am not very attractive but I am extremely intelligent. I can tell you from experience than nearly all girls find me incredibly hot when I start talking to them and they get to know me. Most are shocked because they initially don't think would ever be attracted to me. I am short, fat, hairy.. all the worst things for a guy, but I get as much pushy as I want. I've had hot girls literally beg me to fuck them. It doesn't matter what age either. But most younger girls don't realize they are attracted to intelligence because they just aren't around it very much.
Since I am neither, this is a hard question to answer. On the one side if I was Attractive, I'd probably have a dating history and future and a possibility of love but I'd be dumb like I am now. If I was intelligent I'd be able to learn and develop skills and talents but there's be less of a chance for love because I'd still be as ugly as I am and I've been given that as a reason to a lot of my rejections.
I think in the long run I'd choose to be intelligent because I'd be able to use that to make tons of money, but being attractive would just be that.
I'm already really intelligent. All it does is make you cynical about living on a planet ruled by the dumbest "advanced life" this side of the galaxy. You can literally have an IQ in the low 80s and be successful and rich just by being tall and hot. It's called a model (or actor) and Kate Upton is worth millions. I'd rather be hot and tall, please. At least 6'3".
I'm intelligent and have succeeded on different levels.
When I was younger I was handsome but I never liked the attention it got me. I feel uncomfortable having the spotlight on me. I hated it when men would "accidentally" bump into me and then try to make conversation.
Well, if if youāre more attractive then it opens a lot of doorsābeing considered for modeling, acting, beauty campaigns, advertisements, etc.
But, if youāre super intelligent youāll go down in history for unique inventions, ideas, etc. Youāll be able to say youāve done something thatās never been done before.
More attractive. It's not that I'm unattractive or that I value attractiveness more than intelligence, it's just that I have more intelligence than attractiveness by comparison.
Attractive because being intelligence makes bugger all difference in finding a girlfriend in my country at least. (Girls here date taller guys, not shorter and richer guys)
Although Intelligence has made me stronger to build my own business where I no longer have to live where I am and can travel the world (to another country where I can find a girlfriend who will see intelligence more important)
Well, I used to be intelligent but not attractive.
And then I became attractive.
But somewhere along the line I lost my intelligence.
And then I reverted back to being unattractive again.
So now I have nothing.
My advice to you is to just stay intelligent. (I mean, try to stay attractive too, if you can. Because guys like that. But it's your life. I honestly don't care either way.)
Well im intelligent enough. Im pretty attractive and i know what that gets me already. Sometimes i flirt or use charm to get special treatment. Id really like to know what it would get me to be absolutely ridiculously irresistible attractive.
I see people more intelligent than me and i dont envy them. I think there is such a thing as too smart for your own good. And i think i border on it already. I think my life would get worse if i was more intelligent.
Be more intelligent of course. That is because If I make myself more and more intelligent then with that intelligence I can make myself more attractive.
Attractiveness without intelligence is of no use.
Intelligence so I can write better raps
Sure I know how to make a song sound good and know what beats to pick and what good flow to use
But when it comes to lyrics in clue less due to low iq
I usually jus write random nonsense that sounds like it means something when in actuality I never expired it or its meaningless
I rather be smarter. Beautiful people always suffer from mental health issues. I believe because they became obsessed with the only thing they value... their looks.
I've been told I'm pretty intelligent already, but th that hasn't really gotten me anywhere. I'd like to try being attractive for a change. Just to see how things go.
Your attractiveness may wane, but your brain function will probably last most of your lifetime and will do you in good stead. It's always good to have a balance between both.
@Screenwriter
What if you get in an accident and have major brain damage? What if you end up with alzheimers?
@MysteriousDarkness Someone who sincerely loves you will likely stay by your side because of that love. If you get alzheimer's you won't remember anyone or anything anyway. As long as a relative sets you up in a good, caring environment and comes to check on you, everything is fine. I still say a BALANCE is ideal. You're decent looking, you got a good brain. Nobody has to be a genius or look like the statue of David. People lose body parts and capabilities every day. Usually it's not so drastic. It's bits. What is your face is destroyed in a fire? The chances of getting major brain damage in an accident are small. Alzheimers is more common, but still less than a 50% chance and SOME of that is lifestyle too. High blood pressure, diabetes, a host of comorbidities raise your chance of acquiring it. Live as cleanly as possible, exercise, eat well and doyour best. It's all you can do. I mean look at Keith Richards! Drug abused himself nearly to death. So did David Crosby. Yet they're living well into their 70s after all that abuse. Richards might LOOK a little better and Crosby might not be such a fat slob if both of them had taken a little more care. But the fact that they've alive is stunning. They shoulda been dead skunks in the middle of the road, as that song says, long time ago.
More attractive. For me, it's easier to increase my intelligence than trying to be more attractive. Also if you are attractive, you can attract people easier which means you'll have more influence on others.
intelligent for sure. someone will eventually love you for you, and not just your face. intelligence takes you further and is more important than an attractive appearance.
More intelligent because with intelligence comes those that find intelligence attractive. Those types of men and women are the ones that you should really focus on in relationships. They are the ones that matter the most they actually have substance.
Intelligent- wealth , fame, status , high flying career , respect. You will attract friends and lovers like crazy.
Good looking - the furthest you will make it is model for a few years until your looks fade. No game , no wealth , no respect,
Can I ask you a question
@ManhattanMan1212 sure
ow shit i sense something
Does penis size matter if you love a man
@ManhattanMan1212 gross. And predictable. Stop asking that.
Intelligence gives success in one's career
Attractiveness gives success in one's social life
The grass is always greener - therefore I choose attractiveness.
You are already attracted to my intelligence 🧐
🏆
This is such an easy question. Given the choice, of course you should choose intelligence.
Being pretty helps you through life sure, but it's not a short cut to easy Street. The only way to a good life is brain power.
If you're more attractive people will view you as more intelligent, but this might not necessarily mean you are.
Love your question! Always thought about this! I think I'd choose attractiveness. I just think it depends on the person and I don't think there's anything wrong with either
Intelligent. Hands down. I'd rather have someone come after me for who I am rather than worry about if they're with me just for my looks.
More intelligent. I'm above average in looks already and I wouldn't want to stand out from the crowd too much. Never hurts to be more intelligent.
Intelligence makes someone attractive. No guy/girl would want a dumb or stupid person. That's my opinion. I don't know about yours
Use contextually insightful intelligence to BE 'attractive' ~
Metaphorically, think like a fisherman and tailor your al-lure!
more attractive.
i'm far from being ugly or anything but I don't know it's always nice to be a little prettier
I'll take the extra smarts. I don't think attraction typically offers the same success that intelligence does.
Intelligence, I would assume, implies that I may not be attractive but that I know to become attractive 🤔
I definitely would like to be more intelligent cuz in my opinion that's what makes u more attractive, my boyfriend is very intelligent and smart and funny and a that alone make him sooo sexy in my eyes
I'd say intelligence, but then again I've seen how hot people get a million times more opportunities than non hot people. Especially career wise.
You can always go back to school. You would have a hell of a time trying to study the ugly off of your mug.
Intelligence is attractive to me so it kinda carries them both anyway 😅
Being more intelligent is a bit isolating. Being attractive isn't typically a very isolating thing though. I'm a social animal, so I would rather have the one that gives me more people.
More intelligent
If you're very intelligent, you can find ways to make more money and being rich you can get plastic surgery, or have access to the best makeup artists and stylists in the world
I wouldn't mind a wee bit more knowledge. But... I donāt know. Thereās a possibility that I might be underestimating myself in attractiveness terms. Well, looking back I think I am. Maybe. Bamboozles for the foozles
Iād rather be more intelligent- itās more useful and Iām happy with my looks
Smarter so that I can find the best way to optimize my looks.
Ten million IQ unlocked.
Well, I have a good amount of both, but I'd always want to hone my intelligence more. It's more useful after all.
Mam, according to me attractiveness is subjective, it varies according to different people so I would rather be more intelligent than more attractive.
Only if I can keep the looks I have now, not uglier.
Compared to what I am now. Probably more intelligent. Beauty doesnāt last.
More Attractive.
I think it benefits you more and brings more happiness. As the expression goes "Ignorance is bliss".
Why would you be one or the other, when you can be both ;)
Being intelligent is hell. Iād much rather be blissfully stupid and beautiful.
Youāre not wrong ššš
"More"?
I'm intelligent enough, now make me a male fashion model.
Intelligent brings in more power and help towards everything. You can be attractive but dumb and you come to me all for guidance.
So would rather be intelligent and that leads to more power and money ideas, hence being g attractive too. hhh
more attractive. cause bein more intelligent doesn't make you more happy.
@genericname85
Being so called better long does not always make a person happier.
@MysteriousDarkness yes it does. cause people generally treat better looking better. being better looking has a halo effect on all your other qualities in the eyews of other people. while being intelligent makes you way more prone for depression.
@genericname85
I know people who are so called highly good looking that get treated as if they have nothing else going for them besides their looks.
@MysteriousDarkness well maybe cause that is the case XD just kidding.
you're actually touching a very interesting topic. cause "what makes people happy" is a difficult question.
we have different measures to try and evaluate peoples "happiness". we can measure "life satisfaction" and other subjective as well and objective quality of live measurements.
and sure enough with higher intelligence, subjective and objective quality of life measures like income, education, living space, life satisfaction and subjective wellbeing overall are stable higher than in those individuals with lower intelligence.
so you can rightfully make the argument, that intelligent people are more successfull in all the measures that we have to try and measure ones quality of life...
however being "satisfied" with your life and "being happy" are two different pairs of shoes.
being more intelligent, also correlates with higher levels of neuroticism and is a strong predictor for depression.
so you can be successfull and even subjectively evaluate your satisfaction with your life and the quality of life that you have as "good" but sill be unhappy and depressed.
accurately measuring happiness is quite tough.
Whichever one I choose I'm losing something, since I'm already both. I'm also extremely modest.
Intelligence MAKES you more attractive, at least to people who matter!
Attractive. Being intelligent. Is overated. Success in life depends on the ability to sell yourself. Which is much easier to do when you're attractive. People generally treat ugly people like rhey're stupid. Whether tjey actually are or not anyways.
Being intelligent is better than being attractive
Moreover, U easily get attracted once you are intelligent
I'm intelligent enough for my work and purposes (programmer), but I'm still single, so sure, give me a haircut, haven't been able to get one for a few months with the return of covid.
Attractive. Attractive people can get away with less skill and effort.
But in the real world you can be both attractive and intelligent, so why not choose both.
Intelligent. I can use my brain to come up with ways to be more attractive but I canāt use my looks to make me smarter.
It was tough but I chose intelligence, itās never bad to get more knowledge
