How do I know if she’s ghosting me or just busy?

This girl I’ve been texting for a while now used to reply a lot to my texts and was always really nice on them.

For the past month, she has only been replying to a couple of texts and then stops texting back, not even reading the last text I sent (I text her once every ten days or so). She is still nice on them, but doesn’t text back a lot.

Every time she does text back, she ends up replying to the text she didn’t read before and apologizing for taking too long to answer (she says she doesn’t use her phone a lot but her Snapchat score is constantly changing), usually following up with a question or compliment. She also replies to some of my stories and then stops reading my replies.

I’m trying to give her space so I don’t seem pushy, but do you think I should keep texting her or is she trying to get rid of me.

I have a friend just like you, and based on my experience, here’s what could be wrong. She’s not interested. Maybe at one point she was, which is why she was a lot better about texting back in the past. But things change. Maybe she isn’t clicking with you the way that she used to, or there’s someone new, who knows. On another note, I wouldn’t be so eager to maintain whatever it is you guys have going on. A meager attempt at chatting every 10 days would get annoying (not trying to be mean at all, just honest), but I personally don’t like small talk. So yeah, take from that what you will but I feel like she’s already giving you signs of disinterest, you just have to recognize them and take your foot out of the door.
