Relative social status though. Let's say you are in a nightclub surrounded by dorks as your wingmen. And you are the king of dorks. That is not bad. You are still relatively leader here. That can net girls. But say you are in the night club with very popular guys, and you are the runt. No girls.

The relative is more important than the absolute. Like, take this pic. The 6'2 guy looks so tiny standing next to 7'1 guy. So don't stand next to 7'1 guys.

Girls seem to pick the relatives more than the absolute. They're like programmed to pick out the leader in a bunch -- however pathetic the bunch is.
