So my boyfriend of one month, planned a date for us to spend time with each other but my family had already planned a trip starting that day that last the whole week. My boyfriend didn't know about the trip until I told him the day i was leaving. I chose the trip over him and it hurt his feelings. I’ve been ignoring me since the trip and for the past few days since I came back (yesterday) and you can tell he's hurt. I do love him but the reason i chose the trip is because i didn't want to regret not going or looking back thinking i chose a boy over a once in a lifetime trip.

You are not wrong. He is not a husband. He is your boyfriend of one month and it is expected your family should come first. Understanding it might have been a surprise, he should’ve asked you when you are available. Dates can always be changed to another day, an event with your family can’t. Tell him you would love if he took you out another day.

The family trip was already planned. He made plans without discussing it with you first and expected you to choose a date in a month relationship over a weeklong trip with your family.
