Now before you scream gold digger, I had, from the start, made it clear that I wanted a bigger diamond BUT didn’t care about having an extravagant wedding. So he knew that the ring is so much more important to me than a big wedding, but the diamond on the ring is not big at all. I declined the proposal. Do you think that he should’ve done what I asked and proposed with a bigger ring knowing that I’d not want much money to be spent on the wedding?

Does he have the money to afford a large diamond? How big is big? What about diamond quality. A decent quality 1 caret ring is between $10,000 and $15,000 U. S.

You can get a large stone for much less, but the color and clarity will be poor.

Diamonds are rated by the 3 C's. Cut, how even the propirtions are. Clarity, are there inclusions? I. e. small section of uncrystalized carbon (black dots). Color, is it colorless? How strong of a yellow tint dies it have?

These three things determine how much the stone will spatkle.

A flawless diamond can cost millions.
