Settling for an unattractive partner?

Is it worth settling for some one you are not physically attracted to? Say if they treat you good and will marry you, but you don’t find them sexy. Is it worth it? My friend said she married her man because of financial reasons and to have a home, but he’s not her type. Should I do the same thing? I’m getting tired of being single. Has any of you done this? The thought of this makes me very sad and bored of life.

I’d never advise settling for anyone just because you’re sick of being single. That’s the worst thing you can do, hopping into a relationship for the sake of being in one then later feeling unhappy. If you want to be like your friend and marry for money and a roof over your head no offense to her but I feel like that’s just lazy. “I’m sick of adulting so let me find someone who does it all and I’ll just be a housewife”, basically. If that works for you then go for it. As for attractiveness, all I can say is that any guy is capable of hurting and betraying you, the only difference with an ugly guy is that it will hurt more. Why? Because you lowered your standards and settled, thinking he’d make up for his unattractiveness by being perfect in other areas, then if he cheats or whatever it will feel like a waste.

I mean, I know that when you love someone, they get more attractive in your eyes, so that may help out a little, but... If you absolutely can't stand the sight of the person, I wouldn't do it.

Also, a relationship is supposed to be about love. If you want to share funds, become roommates or something.

I say yes because later on you may find yourself attracted to them or you can have them do things to make you more attracted for example grow a beard, gain weight, grow a man bun etc.

I'd rather have a guy who meets all my other requirements, looks fade

You can choose a lesser attractive partner but you need to have some level of attraction to the person or it will never work out.

I believe they must be your “type”, otherwise you will feel depressed and regretful at not finding someone who shares your interests and who you are attracted to. Leave you wondering if there was someone out there who was your type and could make you happy being interested in the same things. Otherwise you will feel lonely.
