Please help, Why is he doing this to me?

There is a guy at work I find attractive. The problem is that he acts super weird. One day at work he is super fun and flirty with me and we joke around all day and it feels wonderful. The next day or two he seems to avoid me and it feels like we are strangers. WTF is happening and what do i do?

Sounds like me. Relationships aren't worth the financial and legal risks but instincts try to take over. Marriage, cohabitation, sex and childbirth rates are at all time lows, women file 80% of divorces, get custody and alimony in 90% of cases and can falsely accuse a man decades later without consequence. Although women are the voting majority and only men must register for Selective Service or become felons, be fined and lose voting rights, women don't even think about helping us until they need us.

Let me hyper simplify for your tiny squirrel brain: he's at least somewhat aware of the dangers of relationships.

Well there are many possibilities there, but it’s hard for me to say since I’ve never met this lucky guy.


Maybe there are some days that he feels nervous around you for whatever reason: maybe you’re wearing an outfit that he really likes on you and he feels shy?


Another one would be, he’s testing you to gauge your reaction to him acting distant around you. After all, going out of your way at to interact with him would show that you truly care about him.


The other possibility is that he doesn’t want to act too flirty with you and give the wrong idea, which I hope isn’t the case for your sake.


Personally though, I wouldn’t flirt with a girl I don’t find attractive on at least a surface level. If you’re close enough, why not ask him about it, and maybe ask him out on a date? Worst he can do is say “no thank you”. in my opinion playing games is a waste of time, get straight to the point.
