The bottom line is this person does this just to make themselves feel better about their current life status. What is happening is this individual feels a sense of guilt and shame for where they are in their life. Simultaneously, they see you making strides in your life.-This further exacerbates them as they have likely spent much of their life saying, "people like me in places like this... don't have a chance", however, you are creating a life that violates the other person's necessary beliefs. If you have ever wondered why those of the same sex, neighborhood, color etc, who seem like they should be on your side, are not is because your are violating a Group perceived Norm. Often, you simply have a bigger pair of Ovaries and are both determined and not lazy.

One of the saddest things is that sometimes the people being degraded start to internalize SO DO NOT !! There is not a more clear sign of one who is succeeding than when some clown attacks or degrades you because you are doing well and surpassing another person's schema and/or abilities. You keep doing what you are doing and know this bumps and people like this are signs that you are accomplishing !!!

Because he's a manipulator and he wants to take you down to his level tell him to walk away and leave you alone the guy sounds like he's nothing but trouble somewhere in the near future
