How could he do this to me? looking for any advice please and thank you kindly?

boyfriend of 4 years told me that he could never leave me. he was the pursuer and always told me how lucky he was to have me. until recently, we got into a fight days ago and he told me that I am stressing him out and he doesn't need that in his life. he is 11 years older. told me that i need to find a younger man, my age. and that he was sorry.

I feel blindsided. we fought before but never broke up. was never an option. this time its so easy for him to leave and I don't know why. We stayed together 4 years; it was a good relationship. we connected so well. felt right. always understood each other. He broke up with me via text when I was trying to discuss what we could do to settle this argument and move forward. the argument stemmed from him being rude and short with me, out of nowhere. then progressed to talking about his close relationship with his female colleague who is just a close friend, I guess. we have had issues in the past. caught him cheating once but hasn't consumed our relationship. I forgave and moved forward with us. felt like this was just a reason to end it, more than anything. a reasonable excuse.

every breakup talk, he's always fought for us.. for me. now, it's like he is checked out. and I don't know what changed? not even an attempted try. And we just had a great day together beforehand. I am so heartbroken. how could a man who swore he loved me, be done just like that. I am confused. asking for helpful opinions and advice..
