Family lies and secrets in Chinese culture?

Guy I’m talking to has a strange family… the mother has no pictures of him and his siblings claim he’s there cousin. What in the world is going on? Did he do something growing up that disowned him from the family? Another weird thing is his female cousin acts like she has a crush on him. She post his picture on Instagram with a long ass caption like he’s her man. Then she got a special cake made for him. I find this super weird. She acts jealous of me and him. What kind is d weird family is this? He is Chinese if this makes a difference. I’m black.

They are probably just a bunch of Chinese Communist Party spies that aren’t related to one another at all. They just got lumped together by the government as a family unit to make them seem like they are more normal and to create a support network for opperations.

Over 30% of Chinese college students are legitimate spies for the communist party (there are plenty of Taiwanese and American Chinese that aren’t loyal to mainland China)… It’s actually pretty common. The party doesn’t really let you leave the country unless you are serving them. When they ask you to do something, you pretty much have to do it or they kidnap your relatives back home, jail them, and torture them with around the clock interrogations to get your family to pressure you to do the CCP’s bidding.

At one point he probably was... I'm just telling you a lot of people from mainland China are in that same position. Not all Chinese are from mainland China (PRC/CCP) though. There were tons of Chinese immigrants to America prior to Mao’s take over in 1949. Even after a number of Chinese political refuges swam to Taiwan to escape communist China. If he’s 40 then his parents were around during the time of the revolution… So it’s really a question of when they came to America. A lot of Chinese try to infiltrate positions in universities, science laboratories, engineering companies, within the military, inside of politics, etc. to get information and feed it back to the CCP. They can otherwise live a relatively normal life so long as they cooperate.
