Why do people have such a big problem with woman that says “I don’t need no man” ?

I think it's a lot to do with how the woman says it. Women who say things like that tend to be rather hostile, prideful people in general, and many times they aren't especially effective in their lives. So she says that and we look at what else is going on her life and realize that she obviously doesn't want to date us, but that her alternative lifestyle kinda sucks.

Well its simple as this. We are programmed to be social and look for a mate. Its a certain, I didn't make up the rules of how things are nature etc. They, both men and women alike, can say all day long it doesn't bother them, that they dont need no man (being miserable and bitter the entire time towards everyone) that they are single by choice or they reject someone due to embarrassment or other peer pressures or being talked out of that should actually have no bearing in the decision and they dont fit all hundred boxes on a wishlist of what they want, may get ninety eight and still not good enough. You can thank Modern day society and media and tv influence as they have made things the way they are now. As well as single parents, thats a whole another topic. Stimulus money and any other assistance should have only went to married couples with children. Not other type households that cannot take responsibilties and too lazy be commited to one another living in sin versus the correct way to live this thing called life. Supporting and raising a family on a solid foundation not between different enviroments. I can't imagine how that could be beneficial to anyone. I know a few people like that that dont work collect government monies and baby daddy money. You know thats not the correct way to live, but yet the pandemic has created an opportunity for scam artists and lazy people to keep doing it.

Because I didn't think she needed a man in the first place. They love to say this stuff like it's an achievement and I'm supposed to be impressed, but what I actually think is that her life was very lacking in real achievements so she felt the need to count "not needing a man" as an achievement in order to be fulfilled.

And although she does not need man, that doesn't mean there won't be benefits and I wouldn't be surprised if she goes out of her way to look strong and independant at her own jeopardy. And if she is trying to get pregnant, she definitely needs a man.

I don't see your point. I haven't heard a single man say "I don't need a woman" so the fact that single men can't have a child does not prove any point. I have heard women say "I don't need a man" multiple times and they are therefore incorrect because they need men to have children.

It just seems like you want to prove that women are better or something and I don't understand why.

Men need women more than women need men. There are things women can accomplish without a husband

But no one said that men didn't need women in the first place. You are just trying to salvage the pride of the women that say that. And one could argue that women needed men to build things and provide certain things for children (e. g. meat from animals that are killed). It is well-known that the average man is much stronger than the average women and men typically outperform women on spatial memory tests (which is useful when hunting and remembering the location of fresh water, for example, which is vital). So I don't know how you can say that men need women more than women need men or vice versa; it doesn't make sense to say that any needs the other more because without the other, humans would be extinct.

At the end of the day, both the current men and current women needed their ancestors to lay the foundations to have what is available today; we are both reaping what we didn't sow. I'm grateful.

Nobody cares about strength nowadays. We don’t hunt For food anymore. Everyone works careers for food. A woman can eat well without massive strength

I didn't say you shouldn't be proud about that, but it is true that you shouldn't be proud because you're accepting a gift (sperm) from another man. That isn't something to be proud of. And you played no role in advancing science to a point where sperm can be preserved for you to use, so you are just benefitting from other people's work that you contributed nothing towards.

People don't hunt for food now because the people of the past DID hunt for food and collected enough to allow other people to advance civilisation to a point where hunting is no longer necessary, and these people were most likely men.

I don’t know, haven’t come across it much. The only context I would use that phrase in is when it comes to being financially independent, I don’t need a man in that sense. But if I fall for a guy then I’d need him for a lot of other things... and I’d never be ashamed or too proud to admit it

The only women I have heard say that are bitter and unhappy. They blame society for all their problems. I perceive them as being so negative that no man wants them and such a statement from them is their way of saving face.

Probably because the phrase is said with spite. Also, it’s even not true. Women rely on men indirectly through blue collar work (electricians, mechanics, plumbers, truck drivers, or farmers).

I dont think that "i dont need a man" means that they literally dont need men. I thought "not needing a man" meant as in not needing a man to make decisions for them, being able to earn their own money etc.

@weeee Yes many woman who say it mean it literally. Modern society has provided them such ease of living and pampering that they do not consider how their resources are provided for them through the work of someone else. They really think they can survive without men and don’t understand the full context of their livelihoods.
