I dont think they will be alone forever. That's uhhh their prerogative. However, I do think there are just people in general out there, who majority would not sant to wake up to could be the greatest person alive and yeah no... still not gonna want to procreate or wake up to that.

He will meet someone who will be at a point in their lofe where they can accept that sort of fate. Maybe she already got kids so she don't need him for that. Maybe she is blind so she don't see his face anyhow. Maybe she was abused and is now jaded against all better or average looking men and her dating/marrying him is her fate because he makes her feel comfortable. There are still many ways for him to not be alone forever.
By average Joe standards though, it would be a niche scenario, not a very average get together, for a not so average look about him.
