Why would a guy be jealous of a girl?

I have this guy friendx and he is extremely jealous of me, when others are against me, he sides with them, he tries to make me look bad. Is he jealous of me as a person?

That... does not sound like jealousy. That sounds like a bad friend. He isn't jealous of you as a person, he's just being an asshole.

Oh I see. Well, some friends have that sorta competative relationship (in a good way). If it's not in a good way. You should consider talking to him about it. What made me say what I did about him was you saying he: Not only did he not have your back, but in fact sides with 'them' and tries to make you look bad. That sounds like a horrible friend.

I would talk to him if you're unhappy about the competitiveness between you two. Some friendships (especially guy-girl friendships can have that competativeness to them if they happen to get-off on that footing. Talk to him if you're unhappy.

Is there a guy out there that actually gets jealous of women? I mean a hetero guy at at least? I've never met one in my life tbh. Most men if not all men, even when females enter the workforce with us see them as rivals. It just doesn't compute. We're kind of like hardwired to see women different from our male rival counterparts.
