Why do some people call themself ugly?

I have seen more than one GAG user describe themself as ugly.

Calling oneself ugly isn’t going to do anything good for oneself. How about these people go try and do something will will improve their physical appearance?

WTF would you suggest we do? Get plastic surgery? Rip off our faces? Bleach or burn our skin? There's almost nothing one can do to improve physical appearance, especially if they're a male (with makeup and hair salons off the table). The only thing people can possibly due is go to the gym a lot and slim down or bulk up, but that doesn't work for everyone.

For me it comes from all the people who called me ugly growing up, it didn’t matter what I done with my appearance they still kept calling me ugly

So maybe next time you want to judge and just assume that we think we are ugly because of our appearance maybe stop and think that we have dealt with people calling us ugly our entire lives no matter what we do

Yes but its not as simple as people not trying many honestly believe they are ugly

Yes I do realise plastic surgery is expensive and doesn’t always turn out the way some people wish

But some of these people I have seen on GAG call themself ugly were overweight. Losing weight might be hard but not as hard as paying a $20,000 for plastic surgery
