Not necessarily, no. Looks are superficial, but anyone who says they do not matter is clearly lying.
That being said, you should NEVER get into a relationship with someone solely based on their looks. Sure, everyone wants to be with the most desirable person in the room, but at the end of the day, however, "hot" a person may be, it would not matter, because you need someone who compliments you. Looks fade, but love doesn't. What would you do if your SO ages? Would you leave them for someone younger?

Compstibility plays a huge role.. do you have an emotional connection with your SO? Do you care/love them? Do they have long term goals which match yours?
