What is your opinion of people who don’t make an effort?

There was a jerk from my church who wanted to date me and he would always ask for money and ghost me in the middle of conversations, like that is not how you attract a woman. A decent guy is on his best behaviour when trying to win over a love interest.

Sounds like... He's a fake Christian. Look for signs of a disciple of Jesus Christ. That is if you are looking for someone in the church.

1. Does he think of himself, or is his self crucified with Christ?

2. Is he contributing to others or is he looking to be contributed to only himself?

3. Is he always entering a program and in completing it? Or does he leave when he is ready from the program? Assuming there is a program in that particular ministry. And if there is assuming he did enter that program. Assuming he is looking for help to improve himself instead of looking for help for handouts. Is he preparing himself to build himself so that he can benefit others, or is there no sign of change after programs and always looking for help from everybody around even after being helped?

4. Is he hungry for the things of God? Bible studies, ministry work, and reaching out lost the souls?

5. Does his charisma and his so-called praise, match his lifestyle?

6. Is he secure enough to be taught, or does he want "no one to judge him" so he doesn't listen to any advice that points out his flaws?

7. Does his profession to love God match loving other people around him? Or is he always asking people for favors instead of helping others around him?

That and I'm sure there's more signs but I'm sure that this is more than enough for you to gauge whether or not he is a fake or someone real. Watch out for wolves in sheep's clothing in the church. This will help you more or less gage whether or not someone is a man of God like they claim to be or not.

Ok so I had an experience with someone like that. I had a boyfriend who claimed I myself wasn't doing enough for the relationship when in fact I had been trying to get him to talk to me for the previous week. All he'd been doing was ignoring me or telling me he was busy after I had refused to give him money I didn't have. Then I get him to talk to me a few days later and he breaks up with me before I can even get the chance to get through the actual conversation. Though mind you it was a month or so after the relationship had started. So I had been attempting to wait and see if he was just not completely comfortable yet. Yet instead he basically gives up!

Unfortunately in our modern western society we have an abundance of narcissistic , superficial behavior based in instant self gratification. This means you will run into this behavior a lot. It’s toxic and unhealthy and definitely will not produce happiness. RUN

There is so much wrong with this type of guy. He goes to church? asks you for money? and then ghosts you? Sounds like he was on his way to the church of Satan and accidently wondered into the Church of God.
There are only two reasons that I can think of why guys don't make an effort.
1. He simply not interested in you, plain and simple.
2. He is afraid and fear is holding him back and trust me it hurts him more than you can possible imagine. I remember experiencing this type of feeling back in High School 😁.

At least make an effort.
I was one of those guys who did not make any effort. Of course I am talking about study.
Once I started planning and studying accordingly, I feel happy about at least the effort.
The result is completely different thing.

I first encourage people, many times at the least.
But then also if result is not shown, then I myself start helping them and then also if not, and they are willing, I suggest them a different person. Maybe I may be at fault here?

I understand what you mean by best behavior but would you rather find out a year later he was different because he was pretending to be someone else?

I'm not defending his actions but, I'd like not to be duped by im a relationship based on false pretenses.
