Why are some guys scared to talk to a particular girl?

Why would a guy be scared to talk to a particular girl, or act weird around her when he can talk to others so easily?

For me it was fear of rejection. I was rejected it would be awkward between us. She may have been out of my league. Fear of the unknown can lead us to overthink and cause us to avoid the situation entirely. I think it gets easier once your out of school though.

He likes her, but is afraid to be rejected. Especially if she is pretty, and he may assume that she may already have a guy.
