Is it important to hype or gas your partner up?

The problem with doing this is it often leads people to believe they don't measure up unless they go above and beyond to impress others. This can lead to putting too much focus on superficial facades and ignoring any development of depth. I'm more likely to show appreciation for the caring little things she does than when she takes the time to put on a full face of makeup to impress others. I'm more impressed by the simple things people do than their overt actions to draw attention to themselves.
Unfortunately, society seems to promote superficiality, so people copy it in order to be accepted. Are you truly more impressed with people who get fancied up on occasion or those who steadily work in the background, without drawing attention to themselves, and actually help to move things forward? I see more value in the slow and steady and consistent, and I'm much more likely to show appreciation for that. Hair, makeup, nails and clothing don't make a person.
It's important to create a positive environment. You most certainly could do it without having to embellish or lie about. Hyping up an unflattering outfit is more than likely going give you more unflattering outfits. So hype up and gas up the things you genuinely like and want around
