So I had a crush on this girl in 8th grade, I really liked her but I was too scared to ask her out. Cut to 2 years later and we start texting and she admits that she liked me too at the time, we’ve been talking for a few days and set up a time to see Spider-Man: No Way Home, we’ve been flirting a lot through text, but when I asked her if it’s a date she said “No it’s not a date” so I’m not sure if you wants to be friends or if she still likes me.

Keep talking, keep doing things together, don't try to put a label on it just see how you get on when spending more time together. If after 3 or 4 hang outs you're still interested then have a talk with her about what she wants
