No, not at all.


In my opinion, monetary value of a gift means nothing.


A person can give you a rather expensive gift and that can mean they aren’t interested in you.


People who are very rich give gifts like this all the time to coworkers or “friends.”


They have money to spend and they want to LOOK like they care so they gift a relatively expensive gift.


It means nothing.


The reasoning and intention/passion behind the gift is what is important.

I like the idea of making something though, so I may not even spend any money on that.

Making something is different. But I jus think if you do something that only costs a couple of dollars your main goal is to avoid spending money because you can’t be bothered personally (if you’re not broke).

Me and my boyfriend have this thing of picking stones for each other when we go away on holidays etc as our gifts! Just our little thing :)
