Is it bad to think most white girls are racist when I know they’re not?

So I get hit on a lot by white women, because like my sister in law says that I “Look like a white guy but with black hair (I’m Mexican American with European ties from my dad’s side but parents born in Mexico).” The reason I say this is because I met a handful of girls who happened to be Caucasian talking about me being Mexican as a turn off. It pissed me off, and It’s always been stuck in the back of head when I see one random stranger flirts with me, or tries to talk to me as in wanting to get my attention. I know only a small handful of women feel that way, but I just can’t seem to be comfortable around them when I get approached sometimes. Like I have my guard up, and which is sad to me honestly. I don’t want to think this way, but it just happens. I mostly dated Asian and Hispanic women, but since I moved to a majority ruled white community because of my work (like 99% of the women here are white), I have been approached a lot by these girls.

I can understand why you feel that way and why it’s hard to trust white women when you’ve had that experience. It’s good that you recognise it’s probably not the case, but I understand it can be difficult to stop thinking like that. I can tell you that me and all of my white friends would NEVER think that way at all and none of us are racist, and the majority of people aren’t! You could maybe try working on this, meet new people and try to view it as a clean slate and take each person as they are, a new experience without looking to the past.

Like another commenter said, try to keep an open mind and try your best not to put your prejudice onto people who are undeserving of it! It must be hard though. I haven’t experienced racism as I am white but I have no tolerance for it.

I think that is very common. Our world view, our opinions - are highly tied up with our personal experiences. Rewiring your predjuism based by experience is hard. What you describe is how I feel around men I don't know in general & it actually made life for me hard while growing up.

The key is to recognize that issue while trying to keep an open mind and not unjustified throw that predjuism on someone you don't know.

People tend to like there own kind. It doesn't make them racist. I've been rejected by girls I knew just because I didn't speak Spanish. They weren't being racist, they just wanted a guy from there own culture. Nothing wrong in that.

The problem isn’t that they prefer their own kind. It’s what they say about someone’s background. I don’t even want those girls either. They just were talking about me. I don’t give a single care to who a girl prefers. You really misinterpreted this….

I didn't misinterpret anything. I just know that this is just another trick question for someone to play the race card and feel virtuas. Fact is that all individual people have preferences. Those preferences tend to go towards what they are familiar with. That doesn't mean there racist, it just means that there fallowing what they know and like as a individual. Some people prefer to date outside of there race and culture. Nothing wrong in that either.

by the way I live in L. A. County and I am a white minority. So I have had plenty of interacial relationships.
