+1 yBoth are terrible, especially if you're not considered to be an "attractive" person. But if I had to chose, I'd go with in person. Online there are so many obstacles to dating: catfish, scammers, fake accounts/bots. And assuming you get past that, you still have to deal with fake, superficial flakes that set unrealistic standards for a partner, or are only after sex. And don't get me started on ghosting...
That's not to say dating in real life is much better, but usually what you see is what you get. You're forced to interact and talk IN PERSON. Not behind a phone or camera. You can see and hear emotions. And most importantly, be yourself and not hide behind some internet persona.
I truly miss the days where it was considered normal to just walk up to someone, compliment them, strike up a conversation, then exchange numbers. Now you "exchange social media" and interact through there to get to know someone 🙄
Yeah, dating is so bad.01 Reply

I rather date online as it will allow both of you to get to know each other and see what you both have in common and this way when you meet in person the ice is broken. My friend met a girl online and they talked on video and voice but when she came and visited us, she expected too much from him but they continued to date online for awhile longer. But they are no longer together. I have dated guys online and none of them were fake. But it didn’t work but we remained friends after. Every Korean boyfriend I had wanted to come see me. I mostly date guys online that I know starting off as friends first and not rush into a relationship yet.

But for most people we live in bubbles... we spend 45% of your time at work, 45% of your time at home. So if there are not an abundant amount of attractive and available people at work or at home... then we only have about 10% of chance of meeting someone attractive and available.
Available being the key factor... so online 100% of the people are available for some type of relationship... so online ends up being the best opportunity because you can do that at home and at work... which increases your time and opportunity to meet attractive and available people 10 fold. But in the end it all comes down to those in person interactions.00 Reply
+1 yI will always wanna do it in person because that you can see their true emotions that true look on the face when you’re talking to them seem smile to the squ of their eyes and be just personally social with them is either body language and everything and then you know for a fact if that person is attracted you or wants you or even if this is somebody you meet and speak with Adrian always think that person-to-person relationship is so much better than online because so many people hide behind their profiles they can be in say anything they want to be and you never know if that’s what you’re truly getting out of them.

+1 yIn person, only because my personality isn’t the same online (or digitally). I guess I may come off as short/aloof/distant online because I’m not huge on texting, posting pics, making statuses and social media and stuff. But in real life I’m a ball of fun and full of life!
10 Reply 1.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Clearly because people are online different than in person. They talk and act differently online.
Plus there is no dating website that doesn´t use paid bots to keep the site running, so I´m never sure that the person I write with is fake.
The communication offline is less sexual than online and way more personal.10 ReplyIt doesn't matter to me. Both have their pros and cons. You have better chances of establishing a real connection in person, but far lower chances of meeting someone compatible or attracted to you in real life as well. And the inverse of those for online. If I had to pick only one though, it'd be in person, but I'm unlikely to find a catch offline.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yIn person for sure. You can sense things in person better than you can online. I'd rather pick what I like in person and get to know that than, pick what I like online and get to know that and then, when we meetup, the person lied about height, or the filters they put on their pictures. It's hard to sense when a person is lying or hiding things about themself when online. These things are easier sensed in person.
00 ReplyBefore online dating, I have met a decent amount of women between being in bands and clubbing every week and during the week. When O. L. D was new and fresh, I met a lot of women but back then it was sort of taboo and we were ashamed to say how we met. I got extremely comfortable and my meeting in person skills started to fade. Then O. L. D became a thing and everyone started utilizing it. Now I'm back meeting women in person and I'm done with On Line Dating for good.

+1 yObviously in person. Whenever I go out and do errands. I look at a random stranger/guy and I smile at him. But they always look away and walk away from me.
So I get stuck with online interaction.00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIt doesn't matter. If I hit it off with someone I hit it off with someone. But it has been my experience that the women I meet online have no clue who I am when they meet me lol. I mean I get the feeling they never read my profile at all because we never seem to have anything in common (at least from my point of view).
00 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Well of course in person. But online is often the way to actually find likeable people.
Overall the best would actually be online but them actually been local. Which would be insane luck.00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. In person because there seems to be more of a connection that way.
30 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. I’m not a fan of online dating (or dating in general honestly) I’m gonna be single forever because I won’t do online dating.
10 Reply13.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. The idea of meeting online is to then meet in person. Then it's just like meeting anyone else in person.

There is literally no hope for it. The chance is like 1 in a million.

No literally, plus I don’t wanna tell my family, “yea I met my boyfriend off tinder”. I would much rather meet someone authentically.
Oh definitely in person! It’s just sad because I hardly see potentials in real life lol.
20 ReplyI’m open to either but in general it’s hard to find someone you click with these days. I feel like it’s not the way it used to be with dating.

+1 yEventually even an online date would lead to in person. I'm just tired of not meeting someone in either situation, I just want to meet someone.
00 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Dating topic. At this point I would prefer to meet someone in person but that's impossible.

+1 yFor the initial date, I actually like online dating because I can gauge what the person is like without having to spend any money lol. Then if we both like each other enough, we might meet in person.
00 ReplyIn person, im pretty bad with online stuff and id want to know how they usually act just not how they act for me
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Dating in general sucks, but online dating is the worst. In person you can feel out if you are compatible. Online, seems like you are talking to a robot, or yourself.
00 Reply463 opinions shared on Dating topic. In person. You never know really is behind the scene when dating online
00 ReplyIn person because then there's no way someone can catfish you if you make it a priority to see what they really look like before committing

It was easy, and no real pressure.10 Reply
+1 yI am fine either way. But if I talk with someone online and get to know her well I will be interested to meet her eventually
00 ReplyBecause I can open up totally and be comfortable with the person before moving to meet them in person
And if it's the opposite no need to meet at all 😂00 Reply
+1 yI would rather meet the person in real life. There are too many scammers online. I mean there are scammers in real life too. It's a sad world we live in today.😔😔
