What would you think if a girl you were dating was not as old as she claimed?

You thought she was 21, when in fact she was 16. But you really like her a lot. Do you stop dating her or continue?

Depends. It's illegal to marry her in the U. S. until she's 18. Even with parental consent a 17 years old or 16 years old is not allowed to marry a 21 years old man now in the U. S.

I wouldn't want to be dating a 16 years old at my age unless I was allowed to marry her right away, so I guess I'd need to move to Europe or something.

I'm not a pedophile, but biblically and historically women were considered "marriagable" when they get their first Period, and they can get pregnant immediately when they get their first period... and even before that.

Now why would God design a woman to get pregnant at 14 years old unless he intended them to marry at 14 years old? Historically, women married at 14 years old, and the Catholic Church even claims Marry got married to Joseph and gave birth to Jesus when she was 14 years old.

Well, at my age, I would probably face a lot of condemnation for either.
But, if you're younger, I'd say it would depend on where you live and how much judgement you're willing to put up with. (Also, does her father have a gun?) In 31 states, 16 is age of consent. So 16 is not illegal in those states. The age of consent in a majority of countries is 16 or under, as well.
A lot of people think 18 is standard, but it's not. Only about 20 countries and 21 U. S. states have an age of consent of 18 or over.

Well that wouldn't really happen at my age... I doubt I could even date an under 25ish and the odds of a 16 year old faking that is... close to zero.

If 16 is legally underage wherever we are: She's dumped. And I'd tell her as politely as possible that I'm not going to spend 8-10 years in prison or be on the sex registry for life because she decides to railroad me and lie and say I knew her real age without some permanent & unpleasant consequences coming her way. I would die happy knowing she's not getting away with basically murdering my reputation unfairly. Her choice what she does next.

I am not sure why would I think or assume on my own, that she is 21... if I "knew" she's 21 is because she told me and this means she lied to me about it which is really bad... then the fact that she's a minor that's worse... either way, things would have to stop right there and immediately

this happened fairly often to me when I was 18 to early 20's... lol, and very very few can pretend to be older than they really are, and... I didn't entertain them much anyway, not for long so it never made it to this point in which I had to find out about something as problematic as this can be

I'd make it clear then she better get on the honor role and come close to honors. And if she can do that I'd forgive her for the lies. I want to see the compassion for her future if she can do that I'd tell her I can see us being together. Plus I don't want her to end up like me who was a slacker in much of their mid education XD. And yes I'd still do this even if her parents gave us permission to date. Cause I want to see my other half end up better than me and at least have the oppurtunity to decide where she wants to go.

When I was 22 I met this girl at a new Years party at the home of a college friend. I just assumed that everyone there was college age. I hung out with this girl the whole night. We had an awesome kiss at midnight and after the party broke up we sat in my car and listened to music until the sun came up. It turns out she was 17 an a senior in high school. She was the friend of the host's younger sister. I do not think she meant to deceive me. I liked her so much that we dated for a few months until she decided to dump me and go back with her old boyfriend.

It be better for a girl her age to find someone who was more in her age bracket. Then after she becomes an adult she can be free to date whomever she pleases.
