How would you feel if your mate asked you to get std tested before becoming intimate in your relationship?

I’m open to asking my future mate about getting std tested in light of what’s happening now in the world. If she refuses then there’s a strong possibility we will never have unprotected sex and may jeopardize our relationship moving forward.

I’ve been practicing celibacy a few years and don’t feel comfortable knowing my mate has been sexual active prior to meeting me. I can provide lab reports in a relationship. I’m not vaccinated and would prefer if she wasn’t aswell if we got together.

I actually had one girlfriend who asked if I would go with her to get us both tested before she would engage in sex. I did it without a second thought. I respected her desire to be safe. It made me feel good to know that she cherished her body.

I sort of expect it. Quite frankly I think both of you going to get tested together is a very normal step in a relationship.

Anyone sexually active likely does so regularly anyhow.

I am not sexually active and haven’t been in years. So there’s no need for me to get std tested my doctor doesn’t even ask me about getting tested. If she’s sexually actively then yes , she needs to get tested for sure

If you ask it of your partner you do it yourself too. Active or not. It isn't about how reasonable it is but about taking the step together.

Also, you may have had something from before. Reasonable or not denying them the same assurance you want would be insane.

I have no need to get std tested I am not sexually active and haven’t been in 4-5 years. Yes , it’s a requirement if she’s sexually active or have been. I do have yearly labs done for underlying health issues.

In shorter terms, I don’t want a sexually active mate and don’t have a problem getting std tested , but my doctor will look at it funny being she knows me

At which point you just tell your doctor that you both are getting tested together. Your doctor will no doubt understand and probably praise you for it.

I'd have no issue providing that. The issue would be dating someone who had an issue with ME being vaxxed. I don't care if you choose not to for whatever, in my opinion misguided reasons you have, but I'll accept your decision even if I disagree. However, if a girl doesn't want me because I chose to be vaxxed, then screw her.

No big deal to me, I would surely do that and also show her the original certificate. For me sex is an intimate act that is built on trust and taking care for each other.
So if she needs something to trust me I do that.
