Nothing wrong with initating with somebody you like or find interesting. Even if you aren't very good at it.

Most women are just spoiled and want something "special". Their loss, the players with tons of practice will give them some.

from my personal experience, whenever someone dms this they start to get weird/flirty soon after saying it... although trying to cancel that word is still dumb, since it's just a greeting and has nothing to do with any of this. so no, it's not simping.

To be honest, I'm weirded out by how much people react negatively to a simple greeting. It's called greeting for a reason and I like to be polite when talking so yes, when I DM someone I say hi first.
