Why did you block? What were you afraid of? Well, reverse it. If you got that, how would you feel? And more importantly, if you responded and found out you were blocked, how would that make you feel? He probably feels the same. I don't know how long you were talking for, or how much, so this, even though direct and true statement (which is good normally), also could seem a little "cold" or something. Might have phrased it a little differently. But it's ok. Personally I would've been ok, however if I responded (and most guys probably wouldn't at all to that), even if it was just to wish you well back and acknowledge I got the message, to find out I was blocked (for no "good" reason) would be upsetting. Feel a little hurt and even a bit angry because I'd feel it was unjustified. It's an immature, selfish and disrespectful thing to do in my opinion.

I blocked him because everytime I try to end things, he guilts me into giving him another chance, playing on my sense of guilt or negging me in some way. I also feel unhealthily obsessed with him and need to block him. Was I wrong to block him?

Oh ok, well that's more understandable then. A lot of people just block for "no reason", which I think is horrible. But that's reason I think. It wouldn't be (or shouldn't be) a "shock" to him lol

I also told him I had to meet him to make sure we could vibe in real life. I told him I don’t do coffee dates though. I’m willing to split a bill for a restaurant. He said he didn’t want to. He needs to buy a car and he’ll take me on proper dates. He kept delaying and delaying and delaying the meeting, and I finally told him he’s just too young/not a man enough to court me properly. He started playing on my sense of guilt and pity. Telling me “don’t make me regret falling in love” and things like that. Finally it was fucking with my head too much.

There was. We were arguing and I told him there were a lot of problems down the line. My parents did not approve of him. Told me to block him. I recontacted him to tell him I was still obsessed with him, but my parents thought he just couldn’t make me happy down the line (I’m upper class and he’s middle class). Then I told him my dad said he just won’t be able to prices for me or make me happy, and that I was foolish for talking to him this long without having met him face to face. I told him I’d remember him with all the good times we’ve spent discussing things, talking about the universe, coding etc. Then I sent him that messaged and blocked.

Girl, you're letting your parents dictate your life. Sure thing it probably wouldn't have worked irl, but whats wrong with having someone you can be close to even if its online. An online romance seems is not wrong. Sure it might not make sense to your parents but as long as it doesn't interfere with your life, why would they, much more, you, consider it a problem? At the very least, give him the chance to get closure and say goodbye if you're serious about it.

I repeatedly told him I wanted to meet. I gave him all the reasons why we couldn’t work. He still was pushy and wanted to prove that we were “soulmates”. I told him I’m tired of all this being online. I was very patient with him, waiting for him to meet me. He kept finding excuses. Saying he didn’t want me to meet him then I’ll dump him because I wouldn’t think he’s enough. I told him how can I know the full you online. I don’t even know your quirks, habits, lifestyle, culture etc how do I know we’ll actually be compatible? He just was too chicken to meet. I tried to end things gently but he wouldn’t have it. I had to put my foot down.

He said he’s too busy with exams and is a “perfectionist” when it comes to dates and he doesn’t want to displease me also he doesn’t have a car. I told him that just means we aren’t compatible, I have my own car and I can’t downgrade/sacrifice my life for him. I’m also busy with exams. We’ve video called and I’m better looking than him, though he told me he wants to give me a chance in real life.
