Why is the side walk rule seen as so necessary?

I honestly don’t feel like men should have to do that. I also don’t understand why it’s seen as so necessary for a man to do it with a woman but not necessary for people to do with kids?

It's a sense of entitlement among many women. But I think it's just as common to do it for kids.
