Why does this double standard exist?

The one i speak of, of course, is the idea that a man who works in child care or similar occupation is somehow suspicious, but it's not when a woman works in the same occupation.. I mean statistically we should be suspicious of both considering children are abused and killed at a far greater rate than their male counterparts.

I have a close friend who works at a day care, and he is always treated suspiciously. He has even been reported to his superiors simply because he works there no more no less..

its just stereotypes that society has put against people. as long as you dont see a man or a woman acting obviously suspiciously, the suspicion shouldn't be put onto them
