Why this double standard?

When a girl says she is attracted to much older men she's in the minority, has daddy's issues, etc. When a guy says he is into much older women it's okay and he's supported.

I'm not sure that those guys get off " Scott free " , I think they obviously lack responsibility and just want a mother , who tells them what to do , cleans their clothes , yet a mother they get to Fck , its pretty sick really , shows their lack of responsibility and inability to actually function effectively.

With me , I've had many much younger women , I'm sure some had " Daddy " issues , but certainly not all of them , most of them were incredible , independent women , and I'm extremely happy to have had them in my life.

I would have to disagree with the first part of that. Almost 99% of women go for older guys it’s been that way since I can remember.
now if you’re talking an age gap of 20f to 60m that will get some attention. When I was 42 I dated a 25 yo woman and got lots of uncomfortable stares.

i don't give af about "research" here. i know how i feel, i know how my friends think and feel and i've seen, heard and read enough to say this. Having a man who is 3 years older doesn't mean you prefer older men, 1-5 years is literally the same age as you.
In research people can say whatever, look at what they do.

It's actually a known stereotype (fact?) that majority of women like older men. Not like super older. But nobody bats an eyelid if a girl dated a guy upto ten years older. However a guy saying he's dating an older woman is viewed much more "shameful". People will ask the guy why not a prettier younger woman?

20 years - regardless of male or female- is going to be viewed negatively because it's extremely unlikely that a couple will be compatible in the long term with that kind if age gap. I mean, people of 40 or 50 are usually looking after aging parents that are 60 or 70 years old so to be that age looking after your husband or wife is kinda bad. When you still got so much life still in you!

Because people love to shame. The older man also gets shamed for dating much younger women, but that’s usually by the women his age. As long as both parties are legal consenting adults who aren’t hurting anyone else I really don’t care what others do.

And still others think men who like older women were coddled too much by their mother and are trying to replace her. People always have a lot of opinions. Just a matter of how much value you place in those opinions.

These days it's not as clear as that. Younger men are very different now than say 20 years ago. It used to be chalked up to Daddy issues and the like but now, older men are almost the only option if you want a "real" man. At least that's my theory.

I think in a majority of the cases that’s the reason why. Stereotypes or whatever you want to call them are true for a reason. I don’t think every case is like that but a majority of them are.
