I am a girl (recently 17) and I was wondering how to casually befriend a guy I like at the gym (probably 23 or more)? He seems to hang around his friends a lot making it worse.

Here's a game I used to like to use on women. I'd go up to them an say "do you like games"? She's either going to say "no" in which case you're done. But if she says yes then you say, " I'm going to write your middle name down on a piece of paper. And if I'm right and it is indeed your middle name then you have to give me a kiss". Again she's either going to be repulsed and again you have your answer. But if she says "ok", then you write on the piece of paper literally the words "your middle name". And then show it to her and say "does it say your middle name"? Now either she's going to kiss you or understandably she might be apprehensive. If she's willing to give you a smooch then (score!). If she's apprehensive then I turn my cheeck to give her a bailout of just giving me a peck. Either way you've broken the ice.
Not sure how this would work on a guy though. You could give it a try though.
