Anyone else finding most of the dating sites, personals, forums have fake or scam profiles?

Im a reserved community respected guy so I've spent I've spent years discretly looking on various dating and hookup sites and with the exception of the now discontinued craigslist profiles most sites tend to be overloaded with scammers, Only Friends pay for play and AI personalities that seem real then to forget past convos after a couple months. Has anyone found any good sites? For me the thinking is Non pay for play and this includes not paying for sites.

I've met a few couples on swinglifestyle, but never tried any apps, and regular dating sites are crap. OK Cupid was good before Match bought them and turned it into crap.

If you go on a dating site or app, ask to meet for a cup of coffee in the first few messages. Most people on there are just lonely and looking to chat.

But as a good alternative, I always suggest meetup. You can join for free and sign up for as many groups as you want. They announce events, and you can sign up. They need to know how many people are coming, so they can reserve tables and such at restaurants. Join the biggest groups in your area. If you live in a small town, forget it.

Don't join a basket weaving club with 10 members, join a dance group with 500 members.

Yeah, if you're in a remote area that's about the only way. The reason dating apps don't work, is because guys carpet bomb every woman on there with copy and paste messages. So now you have women who are a 4, getting messages from guys who are 9-10. Now their head swells and they really think this is real, and never give regular guys the time of day. So then the hot guys use them, and they never blame themselves, they just blame all guys for being jerks. lol

Of course. They do it to make themselves look more popular with attractive and sane people than they are. Curb appeal.
