2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. It's kind if an inverse scam. Still a scam but for backwards reasons. The idea is sound - single men and women with minimal chances of finding someone in real life come to dating sites in equal numbers to find each other there. But pretty much instantly men figured out that they could use the anonymity offered to look for ass without needing to put themselves out there. So dating sites were swarmed by men looking for a hookup, vastly outnumbering men who are genuinely looking to date.
The women on such sites quickly figured this out and mostly left unless they were truly desperate, also looking for hookups, or were there for entertainment and not trying to take it seriously. The people who made the site saw the immense imbalance and probably figured fake female profiles solve like three problems at once. They make it look like the proportions are more even. They keep the horny men busy so they are somewhat less likely to bother women there for dates. And they frustrate horny men when they discover most of the women they want are fake, so they leave the site thus making the proportions more equal.
Unfortunately, this last bit didn't happen as there is a daily influx of new horny men who are do not have the confidence to put themselves out there in real life and so will avoid it at all costs no matter how hopeless it seems. So, since the concept of a dating site is ruined by horny men, the people who run the site probably just caved and decided to make money off it with outright scams.00 Reply

What most people do not realize is that most of the larger and more well known dating apps are all owned by the same company. They all run on the same principles.
A name for it has even been coined. The lonely heart economy. These sites and apps are mainly aimed at men. No great mystery why. Men are simply a soft target, being easier to entice with one more sexy photo or manipulated with 1 more like from a stranger. They are designed with the carrot and stick model in mind. There is always more girls if you pay a fee. You can always subscribe to see the spicier photos. Give more money and your profile will be shown to more females. Always an endless loop to get more money from you.
I can't remember the exact app or site that was looked at for a statistical analysis for market purposes. 37% of all male profiles and 74% of all females profiles were found to be fake. They run on AI and algoryrms and were used in all the ways I stated above.
So, if you've ever had a long, sexy chat with a hot, sexy profile on Tinder or whatever one you choose, chances are good you were talking to an algorythm.30 Reply

1 yIncreasingly, yes.
Literally the business model. And the algo.
They don't give a fuck if you get love. They give a fuck if you pay them. So they'll do everything they can with their app to make you think you have zero chance at love unless you subscribe.
Then they'll adjust your results to make you want to pay for more boosts or whatever.
Dating apps are maybe 5 years from becoming basically mobile gatcha games.00 Reply
3.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. Yeah genius… A lot of the profiles are fake to hook new (pro/prime/vip) clients and then you have the endless catfishing, the folks who post pics of themselves in their 20s when they’re in their 40s/50s, etc etc etc.

1 yHaven't you figure it out by now?, They are "filled" with A. I. to "make you pay", for everything... Haven't you noticed that when you just "sign up" you'll have 100's of messages and Matches, and to be "able to read them, or see who's watching you profile, you have to become V. I. P?", then then AFTER THE PAY, messages (some of them are GONE), or all are the Same... for example: "Hi DannyUk" how are you today? Or "DannyUk" i seen i caught your eye, or..."DannyUk" tell me more about you, etc, etc... all "these messages" are an engagement for clickbait, or to be frank... for "click & pay" per message to read/write... i'm saying this as i've been there and done that... so Stay Far Away from them... None of them are Real Anymore, No Profiles, No Messages...

1 yDefinitely not scams but that there are usually used for hookups. However, I have friends and family who met their partner through Bumblebee and Tinder and are still married today. If lucky you can find your lobster among the hundreds of potential but its also like finding a needle in a haystack.

1 yLOL kinda. Such sites men are lookin for the most prettiest women to date and women looking for the most handsome and successful men on there so your chances of matching to what people on there are looking for is small unless you significantly drop your standards.

If you pay for stuff while having nearly zero likes or only getting maybe 1-2 a week then its your fault.
Otherwise the apps are usually free to use.00 Reply
1 yYes, many are, but then there are people like me who genuinely wanted to find a connection, but ended up finding garbage

1 yThere are many people that want hook ups in those apps, I wouldn't recommend someone to use it if they are looking for a serious relationship.

1 yFor men they are. Average men on dating apps are subsidizing the sexual exploits of the top 5% of men. About 87% of men are filtered out by women's preferences, so most men aren't even seen by the vast majority of women.
