I don't know if the sites are the scam it's more like the people on the site scamming people. Catfishing bullshit, or they show a picture from years ago and they look different now. I think that's the main problem in my opinion

As far as I am concerned, "Dating" apps are just "Fu*k" apps. That's where you go when you want a one-night stand, a hook-up without having to pay out of pocket.

Dating apps are scam for males. Usually they don't delete profile of female users because the female population of user is lower, so many proflile are ghosts.

If someone is really trying hard to find a relationship, they will just use a dating app as a tool, take care of how they project themselves, and not sit there and rely on it for cheap entertainment. While that's fine too, I'm just saying -- for those seeking something meaningful, use several ways to find someone to meet. There are people who put up a fake selfie, show off their bodies in a sexual way, and entice responses knowing full well what they're doing. It tends to give negative attention, and then here we all are, calling dating sites scams.

I think there are people who genuinely do want to meet someone decent, but their approach on these apps are terrible. God forbid you take a normal photo of yourself rather than one showing you in your underwear.

These are the type of people who get caught up in the "omg you're so gorgeous" comments that they get from everyone that they keep logging in and checking messages for more, being slightly addicted to it. All the while, forget why they're really there.

So until people learn how to be online, dating apps will continue to be cheap entertainment for people looking for thrills.

I have been a user of dating apps for almost 10 years.

No, dating apps are not just for hookups or filled with catfishes. It really depends on what app you are using. Certain apps like tinder are only for hookups while bumble, okcupid, pof are more for folks looking for relationships.

Over my many years that I've been on and off dating apps, I have been on countless dates with men that weren't catfishes, weren't just looking to hookup. These were real men looking for love. However, if you are looking for high quality men- they likely won't be on dating apps. If a man has decent social skills and can attract women in real life, he wouldn't be on the apps. Same goes for women.

There are very few high quality people on those dating apps. Truth is... the very few high quality guys I have met over my many years on dating apps, were only on there because they were busy and didn't have time to look for a date or they were working remotely, never left their house much and didn't know anyone.

And advice for the ladies, women do get sexually assaulted a lot by men from over the internet. Because he met you from an anonymous place and since he knows that you both don't have a social circle in common, he will think he can do whatever he wants to you and get away with it. The internet is a place where people look to do things that are deemed unacceptable by larger part of society. Things that they would hide from their social circles , family and friends. This includes married men looking for mistresses, illegal immigrants looking to marry for a green card, guys with weird sexual fantasies looking to hook up.

I would never recommend online dating to anyone. You would have to sift through so many creeps, losers, weirdos, guys with personality issues before you do find a wedable man

I've been on Bumble and I'm still am.

At first, Before paying the subscription. I get like 3 - 5 matches over a course of the week. This is how Bumble ropes you into paying (yes. I fell for it).

Once I've paid, Those "matches" are either not your type or they don't respond.
I swiped over 200 females which I find I could potentially get along with but I get no matches from them. Sometimes I think to myself if they are swiping left because I'm Asian and not that good looking. Surely out of those 200 females, I swiped, at least 10 would find me attractive.

Bumble will keep you on edge until they get another month payment off you and may be they will let you see one match. This way it will give you some hope.

My guess is that all dating apps are like.

They can be. Lots of catfish out there. On the flip side, that’s how many people met their spouse. Therefore, there are pros and cons with dating apps.
