For example if somebody says I have bad taste in music or clothing I think that would probably just be there opinion because it is possible I might dislike the clothes they wear or music they listen to as well.

For most of the things, it is indeed subjective but not for everything.

My bad taste in clothing may be your good taste because tastes are nothing more than personal likings for something.

There are situations in life where bad taste does indeed mean just that, regardless of personal likings.

It is generally considered bad taste when someone sprays paint on clothing for example because it is independent from someone's liking. It is something that is just not acceptable in society.
