Is dating culture a lost cause or will we be able to rekindle it? What future do you see for dating in the west?

Many things are wrong with todays culture in regards to dating. Trust in others, values, selfishness, ignorance, accountability... It can be difficult to find what your looking for in a partner in todays society.

People are becoming less monolithic and more individualistic in their pursuits, desires, and their methods. In the past women made themselves look more valuable and men chose the women they believed they could afford. Now women have their own value rivaling and exceeding that of many men. Their given the ability to chase what they want over what their families recommend. Yet for both men and women they both seem to chase the same things... Careers and sex.

This depends greatly on where you live in the west but it seems people have moved apart choosing an ephemeral connection over the physical and powerful bond of marriage. Its gone so far that marriage itself has been dragged through the mud making men and women avoid it.

We use dating apps over meeting in person, we want the sexual encounter and fun over the responsibility of marriage and family, we actively avoid finding family and relationships for fear we will be betrayed...

So considering all this. Where is dating going now? is the future one of underwhelming men and overbearing women or will we find our way back?

Women set the standards for sexual and reproductive access that men have to compete with and live with. If women want and enforce as a group that reproductive success will only come to men willing to marry one partner and who is stable smart responsible good with kids and steadily employed, men in the dating pool will provide that. If women want to get back blasted by a whole frat house every Friday night and never know who the father is, men will provide that too. If women want men to step up their game, they cannot give the milk away for free. They also need to bring equivalent value of their own to the table, as double standards lead to resentment and Feminism/MGTOW (two sides of the same coin). Demanding six feet/six pack/six figures when you’re nowhere near there in sexual market value is unrealistic, but also hypocritical. Living up to standards is at least as important as having them. Human beings on incentives, time to put up (not out) or shut up.

So what your saying is men should aim for whatever ridiculous standards women have for them? That makes sense enough. But I won’t step up to be more… I have little motivation and no desire to be ambitious. I do what I need to have time with the people that matter. I won’t change that for some woman.

How does your perspective change if men refused or were unable to meet women’s standards overwhelmingly? Also something to consider is as society collapses we return to a time where physical power takes over and women lacking this power are at the bottom again.

I’m not saying should, I’m saying do. Women are willing to tolerate many of the things they complain about, if not men wouldn’t be doing the things. If women don’t demand a higher price for the milk, men, as you say, aren’t going to voluntarily pay extra. Especially not with so many other cows in the field giving it away for free. Competing with free in the absence of distinctive value is the worst position a person can be in. Thus women need to be worth quality men paying more for the milk if they expect to win in competition for quality men.

Unfortunately, I think dating won't get better. 😕
