Why he does text or call?

I'm in a live in relationship we been together only 3 months but he does not call me all day till about 9pm and say something stupid like, "Don't think I forgot about you"
And I've called him out about this in the last and nothing changes. I broke it off today.
If he says he loves me why ignore me all freaking day?

A guy I was dating for 2 months kept telling me he loved me, he would say it intensely and then the next day no calls or text. He went 7 days without talking to me. We dont live together so I’ve just started ignoring him and moving on. I’m your case that would be harder to do. Maybe he’s using you and doesn’t really care to talk to you. He just knows that he has to come home and he doesn’t want you to be mad so he text that weak text. It’s called putting in the bare minimum to make you think that he cares when he really don’t. It’s toxicity at best.
