Interesting question, and one that I had a somewhat similar experience, and the only stupid thing I did was not to follow up on it with her, but then I was just too stupid to realize how important it might have been to her.

In my late teens (29) at Firestone Tire in Ohio, I played around a lot with women there younger AND older than I. I walked to and from office to parking lot each day with a woman in Accounting, and she was, I believe, in her 60's. We discussed sex a lot, after a period of talking to her, and the conversations took place over a long period of months and probably a couple of years.

One day in the hallway, she remarked to me" You'd probably do me if I would let you"?
Of course, I would and told her so. She was ready when we got to her car that night, and I only got as far as her pulling up her skirt, and me taking off her stockings, and changed my mind about having sex with her.

I've been in that scenario but my way of responding to such flirting was to come over the top. And I've found sometimes with older women when I was in my 20s that they shy away when I do. I think I might have inadvertently made something they intended to be very innocent very serious and without the maturity from their perspective to handle what they had to offer.

I remember this one woman at a bar (she worked as a bartender) I was flirting with and she flirted back so much, and she started it, and then she showed me her hands. If they look my age it means they will likely at least live as long as me.

The odds of any of that happening (besides being sterile), are a lower than a billion to 1 though.

People don't yet take proper care of themselves, and no one that old is going to share my hobbies and interests.

Keep in mind, thats old enough to be my parent, so I find it weird, but if they look that healthy at that age, having someone who doesn't age will make it worth the tradeoff since they will look younger than most current 20-30 year olds by the time those 20-30 year olds are in their 50s-60s.

So basically, if they defeated aging and were otherwise a match.

In my mid twenties I met an older woman at one of my friend’s parties (some people he knew from work). I never asked her age but I would guess she was in her 40s. She was in shape, hot and was flirting with me (and I was flirting back). After a night of drinking and dancing (extremely close), she offered to drive me home (I rode to the party with my friend).
