Is 20 and 24 a weird age gap for dating?

So I'm 24 turning 25 later this year. I'm at university finishing late. This guy who asked me out is 20 turning 21 around the same time. He's cute and I would find him attractive if he weren't so young. Do you think this is a weird age gap with maturity and life stages etc?

That age gap is not big, but if you feel something is off, it's probably because the guy is younger then you. I think you'd have no problem with a guy who is 4-5 years older then you.
But, if you want to get to know him and see how it goes, go ahead.

No, it is not weird. As long as you’re both consenting adults, why would it matter?

If you find him attractive, you should go out with him. Why should you let societal norms dictate your life? Besides, 4 years won’t be that big of a deal as both of you get older. The important thing is compatibility, shared goals and values.

Just because he’s younger than you does not mean that he won’t be on the same maturity level as you. Probably, but you never know. It’s just a date. Keep an open mind and go out with him. Don’t let societal prejudices get in the way. If you’re worried about someone judging you - I assure you, you won’t be judged. People who care about you and your happiness will not judge you.

Also, in straight relationships, the woman being older is becoming a lot more common these days.

That’s totally normal. You’re both in uni so you’re at the same point in life. Go for it. It’s not weird for a girl to date a guy a few years younger than her.

No, not at all.
I have had an 11 year difference, and the biggest difference was in music, and history, things in the past 15ish years, she wasn't around for those.
As you get older it doesn't matter as much as it seems to now.
