Is an 8-year age gap (22 and 30) too much for dating?

Hi guys, I'm 22 and recently got a crush on a guy who's 30. I didn't know about his age because he is so athletic and looks younger. Meanwhile we came across in a friends group and never had the opportunity to chat alone so he also thought I was older. But anyway, it is what it is, I never dated anyone with this age gap but don't really know if that's okay or do you have any experience?

Same age difference with my wife, she's 8 years younger. We've been together for more than 20 years now. You're still in your early 20s, gradually this difference will phase out as you get a bit older.

I wouldn't call 8 years an age gap, rather an age difference.

No, he still hadn't figured out his life yet at the time lol. He was just as lost as I was still because he spent so many years partying and was new to the whole idea of settling down in a committed relationship. We were basically in the same place.

For us, well I go to college in my second year and we are both immigrants in the country. He is doing his continuing education in medicine (it's basically when you graduated in another country so you both work and get licences to be able to do it in that new country)
