How big of an age gap is too much in dating?

Everyone is different so what may be too much for one person maybe isn’t for another. What does matter if there is a genuine connection or not there are some age gap relationships that do work there are others that are questionable at best but it’s not my business. What matters if both people are happy at the end of the day what’s meant to be will be meant to be.

The times I think it’s crossing the line is with minors. A few years age difference for adults isn’t a huge deal but for minors developmentally a few years can be a lot especially if it’s a large age gap. If someone is a adult dating a minor that’s wrong even if there is no (solid evidence at least) sexual contact it’s still extremely creepy and questionable.

Find what’s best for you and what makes you happy. If you feel uncomfortable with something then don’t pursue it. But that may look different person to person. So just be happy for people as long as the relationship seems healthy and isn’t involving someone underage.

Depends on the two people involved. Sometimes one of the two people is too immature or childish to carry out an age-gap relationship. (And it's not always the younger person in the relationship.) It's always important for both people to know what they want, to be clear and honest with each other, etc. if the relationship is to work.

So long as both parties are legal I don’t think it’s anyone’s business to judge the gap


But realistically and from experience: anything over 10 years will have challenges.
The older partner will be living a different chapter of their adult life and it will require the younger partner to mature very fast and skip a lot of steps

No rules as long as both are of legal age. It's a purely personal decision, but I think most people keep the maximum to about 5 years, but there are numerous examples of relationships working where there are much larger age gaps.
