Earlier I was just making small talk because we hadn’t talked for a while (because of ramadan, we’re both muslims. We decided that we’re going to take a break from texting/chatting for a month)

You might be looking too deep into things. He could mean “soon” as in whenever he’s got the time to spare. People are busy, and it can be hard to find time for things outside of work. Don’t stress it so much

So you're concerned that he only wants sex and doesn't actually want to get to know you and have a serious relationship? If you dont want to see him then don't, its up to you. You won't find out until it happens and that shouldn't put you off from seeing him especially if there's a chance it can become something serious. Thats the risk you have to make, I guess.
