Why do people keep the "single" status on their Facebook when they're not actually single?

1) Well most likely they are creeping.

2) They aren't actual of FB much and don't bother updating it.

3) They aren't cheating but still fishing. Catch and release if you will.

4) They just don't feel it's anyone's business.

5) They don't consider their relationship that serious.

6) They want to protect their relationship.

Good question… I personally don’t think it means anything…. But some girl friends haven’t changed status’ bcos they don’t wanna scare of the guy their dating.

How would not changing her relationship status not scare the guy she's dating? I wouldn't want someone I'm seeing to have it still say single and then find out she's changed her status to someone who isn't me.

I've used my facebook once in the past 4 months. If it still said I was single when I wasn't that's not something gonna be on my mind lol.
