Is it proper to ask my date if he’s dating someone else?

I’ve met this guy on dating app and we’ve been sending crazy long texts for two weeks. We met twice. It seems we are quite compatible in many ways of course we still need time to know more about each other before getting into exclusive. But I found myself hard to bear with the potential fact that he’s also dating someone else. I know it’s quite early as we only met twice. But for me, I have no interest on others once I have found someone I’m interested. If he’s dating someone else at the same time, I get jealous and disappointed. I know to a lot of people it’s not a big deal on this early stage but I just hate it. Should I ask him? (I’m not trying to change him though, just want to know but not sure if it’s too early to ask.
