Video surveillance is just about everywhere nowadays, either an establishment's own or via witness cellphones... and over time have really become mens' best friends. Play it by ear. Removing yourself from the situation isn't always possible for a few reasons, with the most common being her not wanting you to remove yourself. I've seen a guy climb a tree to get away from one.
If she started it, you should. Problem is, you probably aren't going to emerge the good guy regardless of who started it.
