As I am the latter and haven't had ANY actual contact with girls in at least 3 years, and another 20 before that, I'd say they go for the former. Especially since I've met hundreds of them that bitch and complain about how abusive their lovers are to them!

not exactly disrespectful, just nonchalant, slightly rude, not very affectionate, kinda blunt and inemotional expressive like doesn't show you much love but shows it through actions rather than words

I don't mind bluntness and while I enjoy some verbal affection not everyone is good at expressing it verbally. If he has other ways to show his, love and affection and isn't very vocal about it that's fine with me
