My brother has been hinting that this guy he knowss is a single 28 year old that I should hangout with him but I was quite intimidated that he has a PhD in engineering and he also knew a lot intelligent pretty girls.

Im 29 I've only studied a bacherlors degree in business studies, lived abroad working in marketing and travelled a bunch. I would say I'm OK looking I'm 5ft 8 120lbs

I dated a school teacher when I was 38, even though I was terrible when I was in school and skipped class all the time. We never talked about education much, we had many other things in common.
Maybe the guy you like will be more interested in you as a person rather than your education or career.

Remember that he's just another person in reality. He's imperfect, and there's really many different ways to be successful in life. It isn't always about your career or status, but more your character and how you treat the ones you love. It's gonna take you longer to find out if he's truly a good partner, and not just impressive on a surface/status/materialistic level.

Exactly. I've just done manual labor jobs my whole life and partied a lot. That teacher I was with had been to university and she was very career oriented. In reality, she had all kinds of personal issues and she basically relied on me for support to help her get by. On the surface some people look to be intimidating, and super successful, but you never know how they are in other ways. You may be the one who actually has more self-confidence and you're putting him up on a pedestal for no reason.

Some people spent their lives in school studying one thing, and then got a job doing that thing. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're smart at everything else.
Just put that stuff out of your head. Be polite, friendly, and do your own thing. Love yourself and worry less about what others think and you'll probably be happier.

Sure, if you think he's attractive and interesting to you.
Treat him how you would anyone else and find out who he really is as a person.
If he's a jerk cut him loose, if he thinks he's better than you cut him loose. Just realize that you have as much value as anyone else.

Thank you for all of this advice it's very much appreciated. Yes he's my brothers lab partner. He said he was nice but I just gotta find out for myself you know. Whether he will look down on me because I'm only did a bacherlors degree in business. I've done other cool things like work abroad for 2 years, volunteer a large sports events and travel 🤷

When you're in a relationship with someone it's the attraction, the emotional connection, the chemistry, and how you treat each other that's probably going to matter the most.
You're accomplishments prior to meeting each other are just things you would put on a resume for a job application. Yes, it's nice to be with a financially independent person, but beyond that there's really no reason to compare education and employment statistics.
Find a guy who makes you feel happy, attracted, comfortable, and makes your life better in some way.

Yes absolutely not no I hate when people do look down on people tho it's such a big competition you know. Do you ever feel that when you talk with some people?

Sometimes, but I've been around a long time, I worked a lot, I was married, I raised a son etc.
I put my heart into my relationships and I honestly don't feel that anyone's above me. She could be a doctor, or a rocket scientist for that matter, and I bet she still has flaws and insecurities, and weaknesses like anyone else.
I wouldn't feel intimidated for a second.
I have all kinds of confidence for whatever reason and I think other people just pick up on that and they treat me as an equal whether they want to or not because I basically don't kiss up to them for their money or whatever. I'm more impressed by other things like their relationship with their kids, or how they treat others. I respect people who are honest and trustworthy, I couldn't care less about their jobs.
